The hydrodistilled essential oils from dried fruits of Zosima absinthifolia and Ferula elaeochytris were analysed by GCÐMS[ Sixteen components\ representing 84[7) of the oil in Zosima absinthifolia\ and 32 components\ making up 65[6) of the oil of Ferula elaeochytris\ were characterized[ The major components were octyl acetate "27[3)# and octyl hexanoate "20[8)# in the former oil^and nonane "16[0)#\ a!pinene "01[6)# and germacrene B "09[2)# in the latter[
