The chemical composition of the essential oil of Salvia palaestina Benth. growing wild in Iran, was examined by GC and GC-MS. 60 components, representing 91.7% of the total oil, were characterized. The main components were germacrene D (14.0%), Ξ² Ξ² Ξ² Ξ² Ξ²-bisabolene (11.9%), 1-epi-cubenol (9.8%), dec
