β¦ Synopsis
Injection-molding and blow-molding grades of high-density polyethylene composites containing up to 30 vol. % of calcinated Kaolin were characterized by measurements of melting temperatures (T m ), heats of fusion (β¬H m ) and room-temperature densities. Both T m and the degree of crystallinity of a polymer matrix proved essentially unchanged regardless of filler content and/or presence of a custom coupling agent.

Polyethylene-based magnetic composites have been prepared by ethylene polymerization on the surface of NdFeB magnets, which is previously activated by ball milling with catalyst components. The level of magnets has been controlled by catalyst preparation and polymerization parameters such as Al/Ti r
Starting from the formulae for effective parameters of the particulate composite derived within the average field approximation, the formula for the percolation threshold is derived. The maximum value of the percolation threshold is 1 3 in the case of the isotropic granules of globular shape. Furthe
The melt flow of glass bead-filled low-density polyethylene composites in extrusion have been observed by using a capillary rheometer to investigate the effects of temperature, shear rate, and filler content on the rheological properties of the melts. The results show that the melt shear flow obeys
The extrudate swell behavior of glass bead-filled low-density polyethylene (LDPE) composite melts was investigated using a constant rate type of capillary rheometer at high extrusion rates and test temperatures varied from 140 to 170Β°C. The results show that the die swell ratio (B) of the melts incr
