✦ Synopsis
The essential oil of the aerial parts of Triumfetta rhomboidea was analysed by GC and GC-MS and assayed for its antibacterial and antifungal activities. The main constituents identified were trans-β β β β β-caryophyllene (22.4%), kessane (14%) and caryophyllene oxide (13%). The antimicrobial tests showed a mild activity against Escherichia coli and Enterococcus hirae.

## Abstract For the first time the composition of the essential oil of __Hypericum maculatum__ Crantz has been determined by GC and GC–MS. The oil consisted of a large number of components in low percentages. Only five components exceeded a 5% level: β‐farnesene (10.0%), __n__‐undecane (8.2%), β‐ca
## Abstract The composition of the essential oil from aerial parts of __Achillea falcata__ L. (Asteraceae) growing wild in Lebanon was analysed by GC and GC–MS; 58 compounds, representing 94.4% of the oil, were identified. Isomers of the cyclobutane ethanol, 1‐methyl‐2‐(1‐methylethenyl), grandisol (
