A quark-meson coupling model based on SU(3) L × SU(3) R symmetry and scale invariance is proposed. We apply this chiral SU(3) quark mean-field model to investigate strange hadronic matter including Λ, Σ and Ξ hyperons. With the symmetry-breaking term, all the hyperon potentials are reasonable. The e
