The behaviour of some di-, tri-and tetrapeptides in the presence of cupric ions was studied by (i) measurement of the variation of the potential using a copper electrode [during the complex formation in alkaline medium by addition of a copper(H) solution] and (ii) by comparison of infrared spectra of these peptides and their copper(H) complexes. The influence of various ligands was specified. The terminal amine and carboxylic groups, the anionic form of the tautomer of one of the amide groups, and event&y, a hydroxyl or thiol group are concerned with chelation.
Resumk L'etude du comportement de quelques di-, tri-, et tetrapeptides vis-a-vis des ions cuivriques est real& dune part par la mesure de la variation du potentiel pris par une electrode de cuivre au tours de la formation en milieu al&in, de complexes par addition dune solution de cuivre(I1) et d'autre part grace a la comparaison des spectres infrarouges des peptides et de leurs complexes cuivriques. Ce travail permet de prkciser l'influence des divers ligands. En effet, la chelation met en jeu non seulement les groupements amine et carboxyle terminaux, mais Cgalement l'anion issu de la forme tautomere de l'un des groupements amide et eventuellement dun groupement hydroxyle ou thiol.
