✦ Synopsis


Carried out a stud on a sample of men (N = 652) at high risk or coron heart disease (CH6) in order to note the dimensions of change for the 3 factors of smoking blood pressure cholesterol, selected intervention and psychosocial variabies. The principd componenta analysea revealed a multidimensional structure with some bi lar change factors. Implications for the design and implementation of becviorally oriented risk factor programs were discwed.

The intervention program in MRFIT consisted of the following series of programs (for a more detailed description see Benfari, 1979):

  1. An intensive group program that consisted of a 10-week integrated intervention session. The objectives of the intensive intervention program were three levels of outcome : awareness, behavioral and risk factor change;
