โฆ Synopsis
Protein kinase C (PKC) has attracted extraordinary research interest over the past decade, resulting in a wealth of information about its structure and function. Our emerging understanding suggests, not surprisingly, that the initial models for activation and function were simplistic and possibly misleading. For those peripherally involved with PKC, this review seeks to highlight areas of controversy.

## Abstract Using a calpain/protein kinase C (PKC) complex, we were able to reproduce, __in vitro__, the induction of PKC downโregulation by the phorbol ester 12โOโtetradecanoylโphorbolโ13โacetate (TPA) which had been previously observed in cells. We show that TPA initiates this phenomenon by promo
## Abstract We have previously shown that HeLa cells express P2Y~2~ and P2Y~6~ receptors endogenously and determined the pathways by which the P2Y~2~ controls proliferation and Na^+^/K^+^ATPase activity. Our objective in this study was to investigate the hypothesis that P2Y~6~ also controls prolife
Previously using PKC isozyme-specific antibodies for immunoblot analysis, we demonstrated the heterogeneous distribution of PKC isozymes in various regions of monkey and rat brains and that type I PKC was most abundant in cerebellum, hippocampus, amygdala, and cerebral cortex (Huang et al.:
