โฆ Synopsis
The preparations and spectral properties are reported of a range of complexes of 9-methyladenine (= 9-Mead) with halides of the series Mn-Zn, and also Cd and Hg(H). In most cases complexes of stoichiometry M(9-Mead)X, are formed which have tetrahedral coordination geometry when M = Co, Zn, or Hg, but polymeric octahedral geometry in the case of the cadmium compounds and the chlorides of manganese(H) and iron( Distorted octahedral coordination is also present in the compounds Ni(9-Mead)z-Clz, Cu(9-MeadJ2XZ (X = Cl or Br) and [M(9-Mead)z-(N03)z(OH,)z] (M = Co or Cu).
