✦ Synopsis

A new process for cleansing and drying raw biomass shows strong competitive advantage for renewable power generation. Agricultural production ofbiomass material over an area of 6000 hectares is projected to sustain a conventional high efficiency steam turbine power plant of 36 MWe. Busbar cost of electricity is anticipated to be 3.7Β’ NZ/kWh (1.5 p/kWh).
