✦ Synopsis

Competitive adsorption on a polycrystalline Ag electrode was studied for 2-and 4-methylpyridine and pyridme at -0.4 to -0.7 V versus SCE by SERS using the in situ solution exchange method. The steric effect of the CH, group in the 2-position was clearly shown along with the electronic effect of each CHs substituent.
