Paspalum paspalodes, an introduced grass species, and Aeluropus littoralis, an indigenous species, develop abundantly in seasonally-flooded marshes in the Camargue (Rhône Delta, France). Although they occur together in many multispecies communities, neither species occurs when the other is dominat.
