High b-galactosidase activities could easily be detected in culture supernatants of Schizophyllum commune grown on lactose and glycerol. The addition of glucose to the growth medium resulted in lower b-galactosidase activities. Two different enzymes exhibiting b-galactosidase activity were purified
## Abstract A method is described for synthesis of riboflavin selectively labeled in the hydrogens at the 5β²βhydroxymethyl position. In this method, a vitamin B~2~βaldehydeβforming enzyme from __Schizophyllum commune__ is used to specifically and completely oxidize the 5β²βhydroxymethyl of riboflavi
