✦ Synopsis


Three types of zone-reaction models representing reactions between porous solid and gas are compared. When the diffusion of gaseous reactant affects the overall reaction rate, the reaction proceeds at the core surface. By introducing the concept of an equivalent rate constant, &, based on the surface reaction model, each zone-reaction model can be presented in terms of equivalent characteristic parameters of the unreacted-core shrinking model.
