✦ Synopsis

The influence of aluminum incorporation into synthetic 1.13 nm tobermorite was studied with regard to the degree of condensation of silicate anions and to thermal behavior after heating to 300°C.

Relative quantities of incorporated, tetrahedrally coordinated alu~num, determined by means of XRF AIK< positions, markedly lowered the degree of condensation compared with aluminum-free products. 002 basal spacinQ shifts were found to vary widely, and were smallest for unsubstituted products.
