✦ Synopsis
A comparative study of vibrations of elasto-viscoplastic circular plates subjected to shock-wave impulses is presented. Results of a finite element analysis are related to experimental data. Two types of elasto-viscoplastic constitutive equations are used: the Chaboche and Bodner-Partom model. They are integrated using the trapezoidal rule whereas the equations of motion are solved by the central difference method. The problem of the modelling of boundary conditions and outside damping is discussed. A good correlation between numerical and experimental results and between two types of constitutive models is observed.
