β¦ Synopsis
The three hadronic interaction models DPMJET 2.55, QGSJET 01, and SIBYLL 2.1, implemented in the air shower simulation program CORSIKA, are compared in the energy range of interest for the Pierre Auger experiment.
The model dependence of relevant quantities in individual hadronic interactions and air showers is investigated.

Charged particles multiplicity distributions for hadron-hadron interactions at high energy have been studied. Two cases are considered: the proton-proton (p-p) and the pion-proton (p-p) interactions. The parton two-fireball model based on an impact parameter is adopted. The overlapping functions, kn
Various hadronic interaction models were used in extensive air showers simulations. This resulted in ambiguous estimation of primary energy, cosmic ray flux intensity, mass composition, etc. Several revisions of models have been made recently; for example, third major version of QGSjet II (QGSjet II
Using the correlations of the hadronic, electromagnetic, and muonic components of extensive air showers measured with the experiment KASCADE the influence of hadronic interaction models on the simulation of air showers is investigated. For the simulations CORSIKA with GHEISHA and FLUKA as low-energy
