✦ Synopsis
Abstract
TRAJSTMAN (1989) defined indices for assessing the performance of decontaminants used in the culturing of a micro‐organism. One index used was the probability that the micro‐organism of interest survives without being contaminated by foreign micro‐organisms. In TRAJSTMAN (1989) attention was given to the maximum of this probability. In the present paper the performance of the decontaminant is assessed by considering, over dose ranges of interest, the mean probability that the organism survives without contamination.
