โœฆ Synopsis

The paper includes comparison of correlations for predicting critical heat flux for uniformly heated vertical porous coated tubes at pressure between 0.1 and 0.7 MPa. In this study, a total of 1120 data points of CHF (Critical heat flux) in uniformly heated vertical porous coated tubes were used. Accuracy of correlations was estimated by calculating average and RMS error with available experimental data, and a new correlation is presented. The new correlation predicts that the CHF data are significantly better than those currently available correlations, with average error 0.69% and RMS error 10.9%.

This paper presents a methodology for the prediction of the critical heat flux (CHF) for the boiling of water in vertical tubes operating under typical conditions found in steam generators. At the furnace, the water flows through long vertical tubes under an axially non-uniform heat flux and with re
