Abstract
Two‐dimensional (2D) particle‐in‐cell (PIC) simulations, using MAGIC code, have been performed for wide‐band helix traveling‐wave tubes (TWTs) in a large‐signal regime. Fundamental and second‐harmonic power calculated over a 1.5‐octave frequency range of 6–18 GHz were compared and found to be in good agreement with those obtained by one‐dimensional (1D) nonlinear theory. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
