Abstract
We derive rigorous expressions for the internal impedance of a circular wire in the quasiβstatic and general cases and compare them with the classical formula. A comparison between the three formulas clearly indicates large discrepancies, even at relatively low frequencies. Β© 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
