an atlas, or alternatively, have access to a simplified state map. I suggest the author and publisher bears this in mind when considering a revised edition. Nevertherless, these irritations are minor when considering the book as a whole. Iowan amateur geologists and high schools with geology on their curriculum will find the book most rewarding. Interested undergraduates, graduates, professionals and engineers wishing to know something about the geology of Iowa will find it an excellent starting source. Otherwise, it is difficult to know what sort of market this book will attract even though it is excellent value for the money.
