✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A compact ultra‐wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) with double notched bands is presented in this article. The proposed BPF comprises one T‐shaped multiple modes resonator and two microstrip‐CPW transition structures etched with different complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs). A CSRR etched on the coupled surface is adopted to produce narrow stop band with high rejection level. Its notched response can be mainly controlled by tuning the length and width of the gap of the CSRR. The fabricated BPF achieved dual notched bands at 5.3 and 5.775 GHz with 10 dB rejection bandwidth of 4.5 and 2.6%, and rejection level of 21.49 and 17.35 dB, respectively. The proposed notched UWB BPF has the advantages of compact size, good selectivity, and flat group delay. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract We present a miniaturized dual‐passband filter module designed using double‐split complementary split ring resonator (DS‐CSRR) and split ring resonator (SRR). The use of SRR results in a significant size reduction of the filter comparing with edge‐coupled‐line filters. Two passbands are

A novel, planar inverted-F antenna with a slotted T-shaped ground plane is proposed. It is shown that introducing a cross-shaped slot onto the T-shaped ground can greatly broaden the bandwidth without affecting the operating frequency. ## Abstract A compact dual‐band bandpass filter using side‐coupled octagonal split‐ring resonators (SRR) is introduced in this letter. The proposed filter employs two sets of SRRs operating at different frequencies to generate two passbands. Besides, the side‐coupled stubs provide sufficient degree
