✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) band‐pass filter using a cross‐coupled λ/4 resonator with loaded split‐ring resonators (SRRs) is introduced in this letter. The proposed filter exhibits a quasi‐elliptic function response and its circuit size occupies only 12 × 11.8 mm^2^ (≈0.21λ~g~ × 0.20λ~g~). Also, a simple equivalent circuit model is set up. A good agreement between simulations and measurements verify the proposed filter and the validity of design methodology. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this paper, the potential use of complementary split‐ring resonators (CSRRs) to design very compact waveguide filters, by etching a CSRR in the center of a metallic sheet, is demonstrated. This original layout reduces the dimensions of the well‐known resonant‐cavity waveguide filters
