✦ Synopsis
A multilayer patch antenna with a periodic structure has been studied and measured. The periodic structure was sandwiched on a high-permittivity substrate. Higher bandwidth has been achieved with the design presented in this paper due to the new resonance inserted by the periodic array. A deeper resonance peak is possible with optimisation of the excitation point and the procedure. Future work will focus on the radiation characteristics of this antenna.
