Abstract

The ChemInform list of common acronyms contains more than 800 acronyms of chemical substances which have been gathered from about 100 chemical journals. In view of the thousands of acronyms devised by authors in the chemical literature, this list is certainly not complete, but it may prove to be useful for the identification of the more common abbreviations.

Due to its large size, this list has been subdivided into numerous parts, which will be included in the ChemInform issues of the first half of 2007.
