✦ Synopsis
Comments are made in connection with a recent paper by Vogelsang and Hoheisel (Comput. Phys. Commun. 46 (1987) 209-216). A theoretical analysis of the computing requirements shows the usefulness of neighbor list or the cell list method in saving computing time for Monte Carlo simulations. This is demonstrated by sample runs on an IBM-3090 computer with vector facility. The possibility of displacing many particles simultaneously in Monte Carlo simulations is also discussed and this can be useful in parallel processing.
