✦ Synopsis

In a recent communication by Rao et al. [ll, the authors presented a method for calculating the kinetic parameters for the hetrogeneous ieaction of rocket propellents. In order to complete their solution, they needed to evaluate the integral of the Boltzman Factor given by h(T) = /Te-E/RTdT. 0 They stated that this integral does not have an exact solution and that approximate solutions were suggested before by Frank-Kamenetskii, Coats and Redfern, Doyle, and Gorbachev independent of each other. Then they presented OOlO-2180/96/$15.00 PI1 SOOlO-2180(96)00006-6 the approximated solution developed by Rao and Barden and compared its values with the values of the other authors. The above stated integral was exactly evaluated and tabulated in Combustion and Flame 23: 17728 (1974) by Shouman et. al. Although the authors approximate solution results are closer to the exact solution values than any of the other approximations, they are not in exact agreement. The authors may want to examine the effect of the difference on their results.
