✦ Synopsis

This paper is the first serious attempt that I know of to incorporate partisan activists into the spatial theory of electoral competition. Since it is important to add partisan activism into the theory, I am inclined to be sympathetic to Aldrich's attempt even though I believe that his paper is seriously flawed.
