This study evaluates the effect of rectal distension on bladder filling sensations determined during cystometric bladder filling. The authors show that in women with lower urinary tract symptoms, rectal distension increases bladder filling sensations, as shown by a decrease in the volume at which the bladder filling sensations are reported.
