This paper presents a method of designing one-and two-dimensional recursive digital filters making use of the properties of bilinear transformation of strictly Hurwitz polynomials. The result is a stable digital filter in both oneand two-dimensional cases, which requires no further testing for stabi

โฆ Synopsis
In a recent paper' Prasad and Reddy suggest a method of designing two-dimensional recursive digital filters making use of a method proposed by them for the generation of strictly Hurwitz polynomials.2 A major requirement in any approximation method using optimization procedures is that the search for optimal parameters should be carried out over the whole class of stable two-dimensional functions. Only then, the resulting solution can be considered to be a useful optimal solution.
