P. Fischer and J. Mullen [3] have recently proposed a stabilization technique for the solution of the unsteady Navier-Stokes equations with the spectral element method. It is based on interpolations in physical space: Given the values of a function u on a Gauss-Lobatto-Legendre (GLL) mesh with (N +

✦ Synopsis
Various recent publications on the evaluation of the Voigt function generally suffer major mathematical and computational flaws. It is important to draw attention to these flaws, particularly as they engendered physically incorrect results that strongly contradict the basic knowledge and acquaintance of the spectral line profile. We comment here on a computational error in the evaluation of the Voigt function, which led to physically incorrect results for the Voigt line profile [Asfaw A. A fast method of modeling spectral lines. JQSRT 2001;70:129-137].

## Abstract Multilayer microstrip lines are an integral part of MMIC. This paper presents an analysis of multilayer GaAs microstrip lines using a spectral‐domain method (SDM), taking into account the effect of the variation in the thickness of various layers of substrates on the characteristic impe
