โœฆ Synopsis

Inelastic neutron scattering from metallic Cr was carried out over a wide range of energy transfers (3~40 meV). Magnetic scattering peaked at the ( 1 0 0) reciprocal lattice position (commensurate peak) superposes on scattering peaked at the spin-density-wave vector position (incommensurate peak). Profile analysis allowed the separation of the commensurate peak from the incommensurate peaks.

The effects of alloying on the itinerant-electron antiferromagnet Mn3Si have been investigated by substituting Cr or Fe for Mn. Mn 3 \_ xT~Si (T = Cr, Fe) alloys have the Heusler-type crystal structure for 0 ~< x ~< 0.2 of Cr-substitution and for the full range of Fe-substitution, and show antiferro
