✦ Synopsis

To celebrate the start of volume 10 of ChemBioChem, this issue begins with an extended editorial section containing comments from our Chairmen Jean-Marie Lehn and Alan Fersht, a publishing update from the Executive Director of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker, Wolfram Koch, and thought-provoking commentaries on the current state and future of chemical biology by members of the Editorial Advisory Board. This is followed by some outstanding original and review papers from our Editorial Advisory Board on subjects as diverse as muta-and biosynthesis, fluorescent tags and ligand display, enzyme inhibition and gene inactivation, identifying and inhibiting toxins, antibiotics, quorum sensing and catalytic promiscuity. We hope you enjoy this special issue: 2009 promises to be a great year for chemical biology.
