โœฆ Synopsis

The first of a series of symposia to be organized by the British Section of the Combustion Institute was held at Imperial College on 27 September 1961. It is proposed to hold similar discussion meetings at various centres of combustion research at approximately sixmonthly intervals. The aim of the meetings is to promote free discussion on selected combustion topics. It is not the policy of the British Section that formal papers should be presented. An attempt will, however, be made to publish a condensed report of the meetings in Combustion and Flame. A report compiled from the contributions of a number of participants to the first meeting is included in the present issue (p 46).
