✦ Synopsis
The current-time transients for monolayer formation by simultaneous random adsorption as well as nucleation-growth-collision processes are discussed. In the recently proposed competitive combined model, the need for incorporating the adsorption effect in the nucleative component of the current response is clearly brought out. The difference between the transients with and without the correction factors are discussed. The potential step responses for a new non-competitive combined model where adsorption and nucleative processes account for finite fractions of the surface are also presented.
