β¦ Synopsis
Vacuum News C o l o u r s o f i n d i c a t o r l i g h t s A newly revised British Standard has just been published under the authority of the new Standards Committee for General Electrotechnical Engineering (IEC). It is identical with the corresponding IEC publication and is, therefore, dually numbered BS4099 (IEC 73) Colours of indicator lights, push-buttons annunciators and digital readouts Part 1 Colours of indicator lights and push buttons. An important change has been made to this revision in the use of the colours red and yellow, based on the concept that red indicates "warning--conditional danger' and yellow 'Caution--change of impending change of conditions'. Part 2 of the standard will be published later, specifying detailed requirements for flashing signals, annunciators and digital readouts.
