✦ Synopsis

Using group extension theory it is shown that there is no need to distinguish between P-and Q-as well as between W,-and W,-types of symmetry as in a recently introduced classification of colour symmetries.

A suitable change of monomorphic section transforms Q-type into P-type and W,-type into W,-type. The situation is discussed for the symmetry groups of tensor fields.

## Abstract A perfect colouring Φ of a simple undirected connected graph __G__ is an edge colouring such that each vertex is incident with exactly one edge of each colour. This paper concerns the problem of representing groups by graphs with perfect colourings. We define groups of graph automorphis
