β¦ Synopsis
I am a lay pastor with a modest amount of classroom training. This series is very useful for anyone - whether they are a degreed preacher, someone like me, or an individual studying God's Word for themselves. I like the practical, personal aspect of the commentary and that fact makes them very useful. So far, I have only used the commentary on Philemon, but have several other volumes which I have perused at some length. The original context commentary is outstanding. I agree, however with Mr. Choy in his comments about the bridging contexts, and like him, have figured out a way to overcome and use them. I have found the contemporary significance section great for concluding my sermons. I plan to purchase all the volumes over time.
