β¦ Synopsis
The Inter-Society Color Council (ISCC) is sponsoring a Panchromatic Conference focusing on color in its surround. The conference will be held in Savannah, Georgia, on Saturday through Monday, February 19 -21, 2000.
Many people working with color devote themselves to understanding color in its surround. Our knowledge comes from widely varied contexts, in which we may use surround effects to advantage or work to control them. The conference objective is to promote interdisciplinary study of color in its surround.
In the tradition of ISCC Williamsburg and Panchromatic conferences, this meeting will foster intensive interactions within a small group of specialists. This format will allow us to learn from, and build on, each other's work. We will compare neural models and appearance models, examine research methods, learn about new approaches and applications, and study the richness of using color surrounds in art. Demonstrations will help ground theoretical work in realworld surround effects.
The conference will include both invited and contributed papers and posters. Abstracts may be submitted on all aspects of color in its surround. Example topics and applications are:
