โฆ Synopsis
This atlas was expressly written to provide a comprehensive anatomical picture of the temporal bone. Through the liberal use of color photographs and radiographs the temporal bone is presented to the reader in both surgical orientations as well as less familiar ones with the hope of elucidating this difficult anatomy. Ideally this approach seems to have merit; unfortunately this work does not quite attain its stated goal. The author has chosen fixed cadaver specimens for the dissections, which is unfortunate since the anatomy in a fresh temporal bone is so much easier to appreciate, especially in a photograph.
