✦ Synopsis
With just two weeks to go before a trip to Barcelona I needed to learn the basics fast and luckily I found this book which was brilliant. The vocabulary was useful and covered all the main areas and the grammar sections were easy to understand. I wish I'd had a book like this when I learned French at school.

A few days ago I posted a harsh review of this book. I decided that my criticisms were unfair in that my reactions had as much to do with my approach to learning a language as they did with the book itself. I've acquired a professional interest in learning Turkish. My ultimate goal is to be able
There are so many challenges in studying Tamil that in a book of this size it is necessary to consider certain trade-offs. The spoken language differs considerably from the written, and it is a very difficult language to pin down to a phonetic system. So what we have here is a book that introduces
This is an excellent book for beginning Swahili. As a fluent speaker, I can tell you that this book will teach you all the grammar you need to form a functioning Swahili sentence and will also provide you with enough vocabulary to communicate in most situations. It won't make you fluent on its own
This book is great for beginners and has a very logical format. I also own Beginner's Yoruba (Hippocrene Beginner's Series) by Kayode J.
