## Abstract Single and double layered composite microspheres were prepared by encapsulating gentamicin‐loaded silica xerogels with biodegradable PLGA polymers (poly(DL‐lactide‐__co__‐glycolide)). The __in vitro__ drug release properties of both the composite microspheres were investigated. The sing
