✦ Synopsis
The intramultiplet mixing processes of the electronic ground state of oxygen atoms with He and Hz have been studied expcrimentally at the state-to-state integral cross section level of detail. Excellent agreement with the recent quantum-mechanical closecoupling calculations based on the ab initio potential curves was found, both in terms of excitation functions and branching ratios. The result also gives strong indication for the validity of Q-conserving approximation in the theoretical treatment of these two systems.
