✦ Synopsis
Calculations of quantum mechanical probabilities and rate constants for the collinear reaction Br + HC1 (o = 2, 3,4) BrH + C1, Br + HCI(o' < o) were performed using hyperspherical coordinates. Removal of vibrationaUy excited HC1 proceeds mainly by reaction to a nearly degenerate HBr state. Processes for which a large change in the internal energy occurs have low probabilities.
