โฆ Synopsis
The quantity of coal used for coking in 191o was 63,o88,-327 short tons. There were 578 coking establishments in existence at the end of I9IO, representing lO4,44o ovens. Nine establishments, representing 894 ovens, were abandoned or dismantled, and IOO establishments were idle during 191o. As to by.-product ovens, 4,o78 were completed and 1,2oo were building m 191o. Their production amounted to 7,I38,734 short tons of coke, an increase of 884,090 short tons over 19o 9 . Of the completed ovens, x,387 were of the Semet-Solvay type, 2,IO4 United Otto, 307 Rothberg, 28o Koppers, and 30o Didier ovens.
