Abstract

The general conditions for the occurrence of a coincidence site lattice, i.e., for partial coincidence of lattice points in two identical crystal lattices, are derived and a method is outlined for determining the degree of coincidence. The question of atomic coincidence in two actual crystals is discussed, leading to the concept of mixed coincidence (coincidence of non‐equivalent atomic sites).
