Approximately 80 per cent of phaeochromocytomas arise in the adrenal glands; 83 out of 107 in one reported series', 59 out of 72 in another'. A small proportion ( 4 1 0 per cent) are bilateral'.'. Extra-adrenal phaeochromocytomas may arise anywhere along the course of the sympathetic chain, in the para-aortic organ of Zuckerkandl, or in the bladder. There have been only two previous reported cases of the coexistence of an adrenal phaeochromocytoma and a phaeochromocytoma of the organ of Z ~c k e r k a n d l ~, ~, and one of these was in a child3. We report the second adult case.
