✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A series of cobalt‐molybdenum‐alumina catalysts was fabricated using as carriers λ‐Al~2~O~3~ doped with various amounts of sodium.
Over these surfaces the H.D.S. of thiophene has been studied. A considerable decrease in the catalytic activity was observed with increasing Na^±^ content.
The decrease in the catalytic activity was explained in terms of structural modification of Mo active species caused by sodium.
D.R.S., X.P.S. and X‐ray spectroscopies were used to characterize the catalysts.
