โฆ Synopsis
The effect of cation substitution in the LacsSro.:CaCu206 superconductor was investigated. La and Ca atoms were simultaneously substituted by Sr and Y, respectively. The ceramic samples with nominal compositions of Lat s.~Sro.2+xCal_~Y~Cu206 (x=0.0 to 0.5 ) were prepared by using an O2 -HI P (hot isostatic pressing) technique. Single-phase samples were obtained over the whole range ofx. The superconductivity transition was lowered with increasing x.

The values ofy (0.48-0.67) and z (0.14--0.28) depend on the total Ca content, x. The length of the a-axis increases from 3.
The effect of partial substitution of Ni in place of Cu in Bi,Ca,Sr~NiFuz\_,O,, has been systematically investigated for 0~~~0.2. The XRD of the samples confirms them to be of single phase. The superconducting critical temperature T, monotonically decreases with Ni concentration; the rate of T, decr
